European gas traders meet Ukraine’s transmission and storage operators

Transformers procured under the Ukraine Energy Support Fund delivered to Kherson region

On 23October Director Artur Lorkowski held a meeting with First Vice-Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko. During the meeting the parties among other topics, addressed the progress in development of National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP), corporate governance reform and Ukraine’s readiness for CBAM.
In September, the Fund continued with the procurement of equipment for the repair and restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which has been damaged in the wake of Russian attacks. Equipment worth over €30 million was bought.

Secretariat launches dispute settlement procedure against Serbia for breaching the Large Combustion Plants Directive in the case of TPP Morava

Secretariat assesses the governance of the Ukrainian energy regulator NEURC as its responsibilities expand

Following a formal request from the National Energy and Regulatory Commission (NEURC), the Secretariat prepared a report on NEURC’s independence and governance framework on the basis of the Energy Community acquis. This follows up on similar reports issued by the Secretariat in 2018 and 2019.
The Ukraine Energy Support Fund has recently procured essential equipment for Ukraine’s Mykolaiv Heat and Power Plant, valued at over 1 million Euros. This will help the uninterrupted supply of heating and electricity during the forthcoming winter season.

Secretariat closes case against Albania concerning unbundling of the electricity distribution system operator
