Regional training on new role of DSOs

2 August 2024

The Energy Community Secretariat, in collaboration with the Council of European Energy Regulators, is hosting a two-day regional training on the new roles of Distribution System Operators (DSO) under the Clean Energy Package in Berlin, Germany. This regional training is organised as part of the EU4Energy Programme - "Promoting the Clean Energy Transition in the Eastern Partnership Countries."

It aims to bring together representatives of the national regulatory authorities and DSOs from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the key/critical elements of distribution system operation (DSO) functionalities. This will further facilitate the integration of renewables and new market participants into the electricity market to meet the objectives of the Clean Energy Package.

A two-day on-site workshop incorporates presentations on the Energy Community and EU best practices with regard to new roles that distribution system operators (DSOs) will assume in the new design of the electricity market.

Funded by the European Union, the EU4Energy programme is a collaborative effort between the Energy Community Secretariat, the Council of European Energy Regulators, and the International Energy Agency.
