Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Secretariat and ERCC finalize cooperation agreement for transport of goods procured under the Ukraine Energy Support Fund
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the Secretariat and the European Union's Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) have entered into acooperation to support Ukraine by covering costs of transporting goods procured under the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The agreement will enable the ERCC to organize and pay for transportation whenever items such as transformers, switches, pipes, engines, batteries, or vehicles are procured under the Fund from a location within a UCPM participating state.
The partnership will strengthen the Fund’s efforts to support Ukraine's energy system with indispensable equipment, which will not have to bear the cost of transporting goods to Ukrainian companies and hence free up additional resources. The initiative reflects the EU's continued commitment to supporting its partner countries and cooperation with the Energy Community Secretariat.
The cooperation highlights all parties’ commitment to benefiting the people of Ukraine through support for the country's energy system. This partnership will be activated as soon as the next set of equipment is ready to be transported, ensuring that the citizens of Ukraine receive the maximum benefits from the Fund.
The Ukrainian Energy Support Fund was established to provide financial support for repairing critical energy infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks and to keep the energy sector functioning. It is managed by the Energy Community Secretariat with significant contributions from governments, international organizations, and corporate donors.
