The initiative is part of a broader strategy to decentralise energy production, enhance the resilience of critical healthcare facilities, and promote the adoption of renewable energy in Ukraine.

Established in collaboration with the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund was created to mitigate the impact of russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The Fund, operated by the Energy Community Secretariat (ECS) in Vienna, Austria, serves as a vital channel for international financial support aimed at restoring and maintaining Ukraine's energy sector.

The upcoming rooftop PV projects aim to achieve three key goals: reducing hospitals' dependence on grid electricity by incorporating renewable solar energy, strengthening healthcare facilities' resilience with battery storage systems that offer backup power during grid outages, and encouraging the widespread adoption of renewable energy technologies in Ukraine.

These systems will be designed to include solar panels, mounting structures, hybrid inverters, battery storage, AC distribution panels with transfer switches, and smart electric meters. All components will be integrated with the existing grid infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted operation during power interruptions.

The projects will be implemented with the help of 'turn-key' contractors operating under the Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) terms. We invite the EPC contractors, suppliers, and integrators of smart solutions to participate in this important initiative.
