During his visit on 31 January and 1 February, the Director met with Belinda Balluku, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy. As Albania holds the 2023 Presidency, additional discussions were held on the presidency programme and core initiatives. At the joint press conference with Deputy Prime Minister Balluku, Director Lorkowski said: Albania deserves a big praise for having achieved its 2020 renewable energy target. The country also continues to be a frontrunner in the implementation of auctions for renewables projects.
Deputy Prime Minister Balluku restated: During its presidency, Albania will act as a catalyst and set an example in the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency. The fulfilment of all EU requirements in the field of energy is the key for regional joint success. Albania will work hard to achieve this.
