Short description of the overall project

The objective of the Second District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project for Moldova is to increase the efficiency of the District Heating system in Chisinau.

Short description of activities financed by the donation

The Project has three components:

• Optimization of Heat and Electricity Generation component,
  1.1. Modernization of Generation at CHP Source-1;
  1.2. Increasing Efficient Cogeneration;
  1.3. Development and installation of a modern comprehensive Management Information System;
  1.4. Development and installation of a modern interactive Hydraulic Management System;
  1.5. Technical Supervision for sub-component 1.2;
• Pilot Energy Efficiency Investments,
• Project Management and Technical Assistance.

Net annual CO2 emission reductions are to be expected by the end of the project: 603000.00,
Projected Lifetime Fuel Savings (GJ): 12376000.00.
