Short description of the overall project

As part of the first international project of the future excellence centre - the Cleantech and Green Economy Research and Innovation Centre to be founded at the University of Pécs – the plan is to establish a knowledge centre in Bosnia and Herzegovina that uniquely integrates technical and economic expertise needed to achieve global climate protection goals and to plan and coordinate interventions for gaining the future EU membership.

Short description of activities financed by the donation

During the implementation of the project, the most important pollutants and emission reduction opportunities will be identified in the framework of situation assessment and needs analysis. Factory visits and specialist meetings in Hungary, as well as training materials and pilot training that will be developed, provide an opportunity to transfer technical and organizational knowledge based on experience. In addition, they pass on their expertise in the development of innovative business to the professionals of the host institution. The basis for the knowledge transfer is provided on the one hand by the last two decades’ experience of environmental / environmental industrial investments and related operational activities in Hungary and the successful business and economic development projects of the Simonyi Business and Economic Development Centre of the University of Pécs on the other.
