Short description of the overall project

The purpose of this project is to provide the initial capital for the Kosovo energy efficiency fund (KEEF) which is expected to be established by end 2018 based on the new law on energy efficiency.

The EU contribution will be managed under a Trust Fund of the World Bank.

Short description of activities financed by the donation

The aim of this project is to improve the energy efficiency of the public infrastructure in Kosovo by providing financing to the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund (KEEF) for implementation of energy efficiency projects.

The budget implementation tasks entrusted to the World Bank include the following activities: operating expenditures of the fund for 5 years including technical assistance to support on preparing, procuring and implementing the energy efficiency projects, and investments in energy efficiency measures and renewable energy investments.
