Regarding new investments and programs to support EE, the list consists out of the following initiatives:

  • Second District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project at JSC Termoelectrica (in Chisinau)
  • Moldova Energy Efficiency Project
  • Improvement of energy efficiency in hospitals
  • Second District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project at JSC CET Nord (in Balti)
  • Multiple business development related support EU4Business

E5P support  with the overall aim to reduce energy use, pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

 

- Second District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project at JSC Termoelectrica (in Chisinau)

  • 92 million EUR provided by IBRD.
  • 2020-2024 implementation period.
  • Main measures: i) 5x new Internal Combustion Engines on natural gas (about 55 MW in total)m including, ii) few additional EE measures in heat distribution sector, iii) IHS in public and residential buildings, iv) some pilot EE measures in residential sector.

- Moldova Energy Efficiency Project

  • 75 million EUR (30 mEUR provided by EIB, 30 mEUR by EBRD and a grant component of 15 mEUR provided by NIP).
  • 2021-2024 implementation period.
  • Main measures – implementation of EE measures in public buildings (of social importance – mainly hospitals).

- Improvement of energy efficiency in hospitals

  • 5-10 million EUR (about 10 hospitals of local importance x 0,5-1 million EUR/ each) to be provided by NEFCO and E5P.
  • 2020-2022 implementation period.
  • Main measures – implementation of EE measures in public buildings (of social importance – mainly hospitals).

- Second District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project at JSC CET Nord (in Balti)

  • About 8-10 million EUR provided by EBRD and E5P (currently a feasibility analysis is being carried out)
  • 2021-2024 implementation period
  • Main measures: i) EE improvement of heat distribution infrastructure, ii) IHS in public and residential buildings, iii) some pilot EE measures in residential sector (including restoration of hot water supply infrastructure)
