Statement condemning Russian attacks on the Ukraine’s civilian energy infrastructure
We strongly condemn the recent Russian attacks on Ukraine’s civilian energy infrastructure. These strikes not only breach international law but also exacerbate the already dire conditions faced by millions of Ukrainians enduring energy insecurity.
Our hearts go out to all victims of these attacks, including the two Ukrenergo workers tragically killed while serving their country. We extend our deepest condolences to their families, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. The bravery and sacrifice of energy workers underscore the vital importance of our collective efforts to ensure Ukraine’s energy resilience and security.
Through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, the Donors and the Secretariat remain steadfast in supporting Ukraine’s energy resilience. The Fund provides critical assistance to repair infrastructure, ensure winter preparedness, and restore energy systems.
