As Ukraine enters its third year of war, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund (UESF), operated by the Energy Community Secretariat, stands as the fastest international mechanism to address urgent energy infrastructure needs. The Fund is delivering vital aid where it is most needed while coordinating efforts with the international community, the European Commission, and Ukrainian authorities.

Throughout the summer months, relentless and targeted Russian attacks have inflicted further damage on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This updated covers the contributions and activities of the UESF during June, July, and August.

In June, the Fund received contributions totalling EUR 51,963,362 from Sweden, Iceland, Estonia, and Australia, benefiting various sectors, including energy transmission, distribution, electricity generation, and combined heating and power. The value of items procured in June amounted to EUR 7,512,117 which included transformers, special-purpose vehicles, and switchgear.

In July, contributions from Germany, Denmark, and Australia reached EUR 12,483,645 with the gas sector receiving 65% of the procurement value, which totalled EUR 68,439,781.

In August, the Fund secured EUR 29,628,280 in contributions from Denmark and the UK, with the gas sector again being the primary beneficiary, accounting for a total procurement value of EUR 58,235,357.

Donors to the UESF provide more than aid—they deliver hope and resilience to a nation at war. These contributions not only help keep the lights on in Ukraine but also reinforce the spirit of solidarity among nations during this challenging time.
