28 August 2024

On 26 August 2024, the Energy Community Regulatory Board (ECRB) has adopted its formal opinion on the draft preliminary list of Projects of Energy Community Interest (PECI), as prepared by the Energy Community PECI Groups.

The ECRB opinion highlights the comprehensive preparation and organization of the selection process, emphasising its alignment with the Energy Community TEN-E Regulation and EU practices. The modelling and ranking of projects, based on the information provided by the PECI Groups, support the viability and cross-border relevance of the proposed energy infrastructure projects.

The ECRB opinion marks a significant step towards finalizing the PECI lists, which are crucial for advancing energy infrastructure and integration within the Energy Community.

The final list of PECI is expected to be adopted by the Energy Community Ministerial Council by the end of 2024, concluding the latest PECI selection process that began in 2023 after the revised TEN-E Regulation was incorporated into the Energy Community framework.
