Secretariat’s Director visits Kosovo*
The Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, Mr. Artur Lorkowski, recently concluded a visit to Kosovo* where he participated in a series of high-level meetings aimed at advancing Kosovo*'s energy market reforms.
Throughout his stay, Mr. Lorkowski engaged in discussions with prominent figures in the Kosovo* government, including Prime Minister Mr. Albin Kurti, First Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Besnik Bislimi, and Minister of Economy Ms. Artane Rizvanolli. Additionally, he had a meeting with the Board of the Energy Regulator Office, chaired by Mr. Ymer Fejzullahu.
The primary focus of these discussions centered around advancing Kosovo*'s energy reform efforts to align with the Clean Energy Package and Electricity Integration Package. While recognizing the progress made thus far, the talks also addressed crucial topics such as the readiness for launching day-ahead electricity market operations, the status of transposing work related to the Electricity Integration Package, and the inaugural RES auction. Particular attention was dedicated to addressing unintentional deviations in the energy sector.
Mr. Lorkowski reaffirmed the Secretariat’s commitment to supporting Kosovo* in its journey towards electricity market reforms and regional integration. He highlighted the importance of collaboration and mutual efforts in achieving these vital objectives, affirming the Energy Community Secretariat's steadfast dedication to facilitating progress in the energy sector for the benefit of Kosovo* and the broader region.
