Ukraine Energy Support Fund procures first mobile high voltage laboratories
Aimed at restoring electricity supply to citizens affected by the military aggression of Russia, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund has successfully procured and deployed its first batch of mobile high-voltage laboratories. These vehicles have been strategically distributed to regions in both the East and West of Ukraine to facilitate diagnostics, measurement, and testing of electrical network elements damaged during the war.
The mobile high-voltage laboratories are equipped with cutting-edge technology, including advanced equipment for topographical determination of cable line damage sites through induction and acoustic methods. This advanced technology will enable rapid and precise identification of damaged areas, expediting the restoration of electricity supply to the affected population.
Experts from the Energy Community Secretariat verified compliance of the procured laboratories with technical specifications in order to ensure that the laboratories adhere to strict technical specifications, guaranteeing their effectiveness in the field.
The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established with the objective of providing financial assistance to repair Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks and ensuring the continued functionality of the energy sector. It is managed by the Energy Community Secretariat, with contributions from governments, international organizations, and corporate donors. To date the Fund has reached EUR 272 million in pledges, with EUR 192 million already deposited in the Special Purpose Account.
