Ukraine Energy Support Fund strengthened with a 25 million USD grant from USAID
The Ukraine Energy Support Fund received a substantial grant of 25 million USD by the United States Agency for International development (USAID), further strengthening its mission to support Ukraine's energy sector. This contribution will enable Ukraine to purchase urgently needed equipment for the energy sector and prepare for the upcoming winter season. It will support Ukraine in strengthening its energy security and ensuring that the energy sector remains operational despite the destructions caused by Russia's full-scale invasion.
With this pledge, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund has reached EUR 272 million in pledges, with EUR 192 million already deposited in the Special Purpose Account.
The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established with the objective of providing financial assistance to repair Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks and ensuring the continued functionality of the energy sector. It is managed by the Energy Community Secretariat, with contributions from governments, international organizations, and corporate donors.
