25 October 2023

During his visit to Kyiv, Artur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, joined by Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Energy Ms. Svitlana Grynchuk, visited one of Kyiv's main combined heat and power facilities. The facility has recently received the delivery of the high-voltage equipment procured through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The company operating the facility provided the visitors with an overview of on-going repair works on the energy facilities damaged by the Russian missile and drone attacks.

New equipment procured under the Fund will be essential to restoring the facility to full capacity and ensuring heating and lights stay on in Kyiv during the coming winter and beyond. The company expressed appreciation for the Fund’s support and confirmed that the new equipment will be installed and commissioned without delay.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established to provide financial support for repairing Ukrainian energy infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks and to maintain the functioning of the energy sector. It is managed by the Energy Community Secretariat and receives significant contributions from governments, international organizations, and corporate donors.
