Ukraine Energy Support Fund strengthened with €27 Mln from a Swedish grant
The Energy Community Secretariat is delighted to announce a substantial grant of EUR 27 million provided by Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The grant has been designated to support Ukraine's energy sector through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund (UESF).
The infusion of funds into the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund is of vital importance as it will enable Ukraine to purchase urgently needed equipment for the energy sector and prepare for the upcoming winter season, ensuring that the energy sector remains operational despite the challenges caused by Russia's full-scale invasion.
The funds will be specifically directed towards initiatives that prioritize electricity grid restoration, resilient and sustainable renewable energy solutions, and uphold principles of gender equality.
The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established to provide financial support for repairing critical energy infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks and to keep the energy sector functioning. It is managed by the Energy Community Secretariat with significant contributions from governments, international organizations, and corporate donors.
The Energy Community Secretariat is honored to partner with its allies and expresses its gratitude to Sida for its unwavering support and contributions to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund.
