Director Lorkowski meets new Energy Minister of Serbia
Yesterday, Director Lorkowski met Serbia’s newly appointed Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović, in Belgrade. The discussion focussed on cooperation between Serbia and the Secretariat to advance the country’s energy transition and reforms in line with the acquis as well as energy security and affordability.
Director Lorkowski said: “It was an honour and a pleasure to meet Minister Đedović. Despite the challenges of dealing with the energy crisis, I can clearly see that Serbia is fully committed to continue the path of energy sector reforms and the energy transition. The Secretariat will continue to do all it can to support Serbia on its energy decarbonization pathway and bring tangible benefits to its citizens.”
Minister Đedović said: “Serbia is firmly committed to the green energy transition. We will work closely with the Energy Community in planning and implementing activities that will result in a greater share of renewable energy sources in our energy mix and a reduction of harmful greenhouse gas emissions.”
The meeting also served to prepare the upcoming Energy Community Ministerial Council on 15 December in Vienna.
The Director was accompanied by Deputy Director Dirk Buschle, Head of the Electricity Sector Jasmina Trhulj and Head of the Gas Sector, Predrag Grujicic.
