Secretariat to support Ukraine in green post-war transition
Director Lorkowski discussed the green transition of Ukraine’s energy sector with First Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Grechanyk and Deputy Minister Svitlana Grinchuk today in Kyiv.
They agreed to work together on several initiatives to ensure that the post-war recovery of Ukraine's energy sector is environmentally sustainable and in line with decarbonisation goals to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
In particular, the Secretariat will support the Ministry in the preparation of the country’s National Energy and Climate Plan, the transposition of the Governance Regulation and the finalization of the draft Climate Law.
The Secretariat, through its Dispute Resolution and Negotiation Center, will also cooperate with the Ministry in promoting and pursuing legal claims against the Russian Federation with regard to the damage inflicted to the environment and climate by the ongoing attacks against Ukraine.
