Secretariat’s task force coordinates delivery of 60 metric tons of critical energy equipment to Ukraine
The Secretariat’s Ukraine Support Task Force is continuously working to keep the lights on in Ukraine during the conditions of war. Cooperating closely with the EU’s Emergency Response Coordination Centre, the Task Force has supported the delivery of more than 60 metric tons of emergency energy equipment donated by companies across Europe.
Two shipments have already reached Ukraine, whereas four others are currently in transit. Once in Ukraine, the equipment is used to repair energy infrastructure damaged during the war and reconnect families and businesses to electricity and gas supplies. The equipment, including generators, cables, conductors, transformers, batteries and computers, was donated in kind by companies from Sweden, Latvia, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Norway.
The preparation of ten additional emergency shipments is in the final stage.
