State aid authority of Serbia approves renewables support scheme

On 4 November 2021, the Serbian Commission for State Aid Control rendered its decision regarding decrees in the framework of the support scheme for renewable energy, in particular the decree on the market premium and feed-in tariff, the decree on quotas and the model contract for market premium. It found that these measures contain elements of State aid which were however compatible and therefore were approved by the Commission.

The review and assessment of any State aid measure before its adoption is a cornerstone of effective State aid control in order to prevent implementation of incompatible aid and ensure the proper functioning of the market. The Secretariat welcomes the Commission’s decision.
