First draft of Security of Natural Gas Supply Rules discussed with stakeholders

Today’s EU4Energy Governance workshop gathered representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Georgian Gas Transportation Company LLC, JSC Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission and Energy Community experts to discuss the first draft of the Rules on the Security of Natural Gas Supply developed under the Project.

The parties went through the wording of the Rules and discussed comments provided by the Georgian stakeholders. The discussion concentrated on the definition of protected customers in an emergency situation, the compensation mechanism, declaration of an emergency level, distribution of tasks between the Ministry and the transmission system operator, etc. The updated text of the Rules will be provided to the beneficiaries shortly.
