EU4Energy launches project to review the Law on Energy Efficiency in Moldova

The EU4Energy Governance project launched activities to support Moldova in elaborating energy efficiency legislation in accordance with the EU best practice.

On 9 September, the first online stakeholder meeting to support Moldova in reviewing its energy efficiency legislation took place under the framework of the EU4Energy Governance project. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Energy Efficiency Agency, expert community and representatives of European Commission.

In the coming months, Energy Community experts, in close cooperation with Moldovan authorities, will develop draft amendments to the Energy Efficiency Law (№139 dated 19.07.18) with regard to alignment with relevant provisions of the latest Energy Efficiency Directive 2018/2002 and EU Green Deal.
