Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina takes further steps towards phasing out feed-in tariffs for small hydro
The Secretariat welcomes the steps taken by the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina towards implementing the ban of the construction of small hydropower plants requested earlier this year by the Federation’s Parliament. The announcement of terminating subsidies by feed-in tariffs to small hydropower is in line with the Secretariat’s recently adopted Policy Guidelines on the development of small hydropower projects.
The steps taken by the Government of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina were also welcomed by the Energy Community’s Environmental Task Force at its meeting of today. The Task Force initiated the creation of a Working Group dedicated to helping the Contracting Parties with transposition, implementation and enforcement of the environmental impact assessment for small hydropower projects. Other issues addressed by the Task Force were the implementation of the Large Combustion Plants Directive and potential new environmental acquis.
