Companies Naftogaz, Moldovagaz and GAMA join ambitious methane reporting framework

In November 2019, the Energy Community Secretariat launched an initiative to raise awareness of the importance of methane reporting and measurement to support the Contracting Parties in the transition to a decarbonized energy future and started to collect this data with the support of 27 gas and oil companies based in the Contracting Parties.

The Secretariat commends the efforts of Ukraine’s Naftogaz, Moldova’s Moldovagaz and North Macedonia’s GAMA for joining the revamped Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP) launched on 23 November. The new OGMP 2.0 is a voluntary instrument which aims to improve the reporting accuracy and transparency of methane emissions in the oil and gas sector.
