Have your say in the public consultation on Policy Guidelines on renewables self-consumers

Renewable energy
17 June 2020

Today, the Energy Community Secretariat launched a public consultation on the integration of renewables self-consumers into the energy networks. The Guidelines reflect the latest legal requirements stemming from the EU’s Clean Energy Package, soon to be adopted in the Energy Community. Their purpose it to provide advice to policy-makers in the Contracting Parties on the development of national legal and regulatory frameworks conducive to renewables self-consumption and empowering final customers to actively participate in the self-consumption of renewable energy.

Self-consumption of renewable energy offers new opportunities to households and other final customers to benefit from technological development and reduce their energy bills. It can also help countries reach their environmental and energy policy objectives.

The views collected via the public consultation will serve as input into the final version of the Policy Guidelines. Stakeholders are invited to submit their comments via the online questionnaire by 31 July 2020 COB (CET).
