Director Kopač meets EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement

Today, the Director of the Energy Community Secretariat met with Olivér Várhelyi, the new EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, in Brussels.  The meeting discussed opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the European Commission and the Energy Community Secretariat. It also focused on energy transition options for the Energy Community Contracting Parties, including in light of the upcoming EU-Western Balkans Summit taking place on 7 May in Zagreb under the auspices of the Croatian Presidency of the EU.

On the same day, the Secretariat’s team met members of the cabinet of Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, and senior management of DG Climate Action to discuss the European Green Deal and its implications for the Energy Community.
