Early notification: Secretariat to open call for candidate projects of Energy Community interest in early February 2020
The Energy Community Secretariat commenced the third selection procedure for Projects of Energy Community Interest and Projects of Mutual Interest (PECI/PMI) in January 2020 in line with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 347/2013 on guidelines for trans-European energy infrastructure, as adopted in the Energy Community. The launch of the project submission process will be announced on the Energy Community website in early February 2020.
Project promoters will have the opportunity to submit projects in line with the categories defined in Annex I of the Regulation. Project promoters of a cross-border gas, electricity or smart grid project with impact on transmission and distribution systems will have to complete a joint project submission, via a single questionnaire. Consequently, the Secretariat advises those project promoters wishing to submit a cross-border project to engage in early communication with their respective counterparts in order to ensure the questionnaire’s timely submission.
The first electricity and gas PECI/PMI selection group meeting takes place at the premises of the Energy Community Secretariat in Vienna on 30 January 2020. All project promoters are invited to take part in the meeting (registration link below).
