Contracting Parties' reports

The Large Combustion Plants Directive took effect on 1 January 2018 in the Energy Community. For existing large combustion plants, two alternative implementation avenues exist: either compliance with the emission limit values for SO2, NOx and dust at individual plant level, or implementation of a National Emission Reduction Plan (NERP). Every plant must be covered by either of the two options.

The Clean Energy Package includes a robust governance system with the requirement to establish integrated, 10-year National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs). Based on a common structure, these plans outline how the country will achieve its targets on all dimensions of the energy union, including a longer-term view towards 2050. The NECPs follow a life cycle perspective: draft plan / recommendation / final plan / assessment / update of the plan, whilst the drafting of a plan for the next period begins in parallel.
